Almost 10 million children in the UK are heading back to school this week and it’s a huge retail opportunity. Uniforms are the biggest expenditure for parents, accounting for £842M worth of sales in 2015, followed by sportswear, stationary and school accessories. Driven by quality, low prices, convenience and special offers, parents are looking for the best deals in the run up to school time.
It’s a multi-screen environment, with spend distributed across desktop, tablet and smartphones. Interestingly, m-commerce on iOS is 19% higher than Android users.
