Teads’ Female Innovators: Caterine Leon

Our next Innovator is Caterine Leon of the French Innovation team! Well done!!

1.Tell us about your journey to, and within, Teads

My arrival at Teads came following a rather interesting journey. I am a little Colombian nomad, and when I finished my studies I moved to Montreal to complete my masters degree. I decided to settle down there and call it my home. Ten years pass, and my family and I made the decision to move to the South of France, where I was lucky enough to find a position at Teads. When I started here, I knew I had a lot of challenges and interesting projects ahead of me.. what I didn’t know is that I was how much fun I was going to have and that I would have a dream team to work with me.

  1. What does being an innovator mean to you?

To be innovative is to reinvent ones job at every moment. It is to think beyond the standards, to turn our visions into new products or services that push the boundaries of what we knew before. I am UI UX designer and the basis of my job is innovation. I create environments in which users are provided exactly the tools and information that they require, while delivering a fluid and intuitive experience while they work.

  1. What woman inspires you and why?

I always admired Michelle Obama. She is an intelligent woman who has managed to gain respect in a particularly difficult political context. Her work and passions have acted as the solidification of women’s role in politics. I think Michelle Obama has encouraged women to speak in such a way that they will be heard!

  1. If you could go back and give your teenage self advice for the future, what would it be?

You are more powerful than you know, believe in yourself and keep fighting for your dreams!

  1. What is the most memorable piece of advice you ever received?

Remember that happiness is not a destination, it is a path: Enjoy life as you move through it, be kind and never look down on anyone, anywhere.

  1. Within the next year, what do you wish to accomplish?

I want to continue to be involved with the design and enhancements of our products but I also want to demonstrate and emphasize the importance and commercial value of the user experience. I believe everyone, no matter the discipline, can contribute to create high quality products and services.

  1. What is your biggest wish/hope for the next generation of successful women?

For years courageous women have fought to give us, the women of the new generations, the rights and freedoms that we now enjoy. Today, many women are poised for leadership where they now play a key role in building and developing the future of our society. I feel honored to be part of this evolution.

Unfortunately, we still have many women who are subjected to aggression, inequality and discrimination… the battle is not yet won. My wish for the next generation is that women and men work together to educate our boys to promote respect and equality towards women, and encourage our girls to become interested in technology, science, politics and entrepreneurship.
